Consultancies: The programme staff at PSI has built its reputation by undertaking consultancy projects in India and abroad. Recent projects include Natural Resource Management, Sanitary Risk Assessment, Fluorosis Mitigation Planning, Earthquake Safe Housing Construction , Temporary Shelter Construction, Development of Web-GIS based information systems etc.
Training: PSI conducts training in Environmental Quality Monitoring, Natural Resources Management, Disaster Mitigation and Response. It has trained government officials, engineers, management professional, rural communities in these subjects. Training aids have been developed in English, Hindi and other Indian languages and have been appreciated by the participants. These training aids are purchased and used by other organizations and government agencies.
Development Support: PSI extends field support for the implementation of developmental projects. The niche support areas include village level micro-planning for development, building village level Institutions, enhancing paddy yields using the SRI method of cultivation, design and installation of roof rainwater harvesting and decentralized wastewater systems, preparation of and village-level disaster preparedness plans, hazards mapping, watershed development , laboratory facilities to measure air, water and soil quality.
