Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. It was established on 16 July, 1929. The ICAR has its headquarters at New Delhi. The Council is the apex body for coordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country.

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR)

Indian Institute of Technology – Roorkee completed 150th year of its existence in October 1996. On September 21, 2001, an Ordinance issued by the Government of India declared it as the nation's seventh Indian Institute of Technology. The Institute is among the foremost of institutes of national importance in higher technological education and in engineering, basic and applied research. The India Water Portal is an open, inclusive, web-based platform maintained by Arghyam,for sharing water management knowledge amongst practitioners and the general public. It aims to draw on the rich experience of water-sector experts, package their knowledge and add value to it through technology and then disseminate it to a larger audience through the internet.

The Project Management Unit (PMU) of Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Society was registered on 5th March 2001 under the Department of Drinking Water Supply, Government of Uttarakhand as per provision of Societies Registration Act 1860. The objective of the Society is to deliver sustainable health & hygiene benefits to the rural population, through improvement in water supply and environmental sanitation services and to promote the long term sustainability of the rural water supply and sanitation sector by providing assistance to State Governments to identify and implement an appropriate policy framework and strategic plan.
